Plan an Amazing Day at Jungle Island Miami

,

We love to explore new cities when we move and we found the best way to plan an amazing day at Jungle Island in Miami…here’s how!

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased online and will save time once you get there. We got free tickets as a part of their summer special, so check their site before showing up! To visit just the animals is one ticket, then there are two more add-ons: the ropes course and the jungle village playground (not the playground at the food court, but an actual special village…you can see it in our vlog).

Parking

Parking is a flat rate for the entire day. When you come plan on staying as long as you’d like since there is no rush. The parking lot is covered (it’s a garage) but does not have room for trailers. There is also no electric chargers as far as we saw, so come charged up! The park is located at  1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132.

Animals

There are many animals to see and there are even close encounters. While some of the animals are in cages, some are completely free and you can see them up close, it surprised me at first but was very cool. There are tortoises, parrots, wallabies, goats, snakes, and more. Don’t forget to check in the gift shop where more reptiles are housed.

Food

There is a cute little food truck in the center of the park that has a good variety of food. We enjoyed some pizza and sodas but there are other snack and meal options to choose from as well. We paid with our phones, so no need to bring cash.

Playgrounds

There is a playground at the center of the park that is pretty epic. My kids absolutely loved this little area as it reminded them of a European park. There is also a paid park that is near the entrance: kids pay but adults can go in and supervise for free.

Treetop Trek

The Treetop Trek, or ropes course, is operated above the Jungle Island Miami exhibits and offers three different options. We did not personally do this but all of the equipment is included in the fee for each course. You can find out more about the treetop treks on their site, here.

Good to Know & Conclusion

While the signs say no outside food or drink, many parents bring in water bottles. Had we known we would have brought in water as well. There are water fountains by the restrooms, thankfully, so we were okay.

The entire place is technically wheelchair/stroller friendly, we found that some of the wooden paths were a bit rough, so be aware.

It costs extra to buy feed for the goats and it also costs extra to participate in animal encounters. The front entrance will let you know of these costs when you arrive.

There are usually two animal presentations/shows daily. We watched the show at 11 o’clock and enjoyed the training presentation. Check in with the front desk to see what these times are each day.

As a whole we enjoyed our time there and completed our visit within 2 hours. If you are doing the rope course or animal encounters, plan on longer.
